Get answers to common questions about Pico Laser.
Most clients see significant improvement after 3–6 Pico Laser sessions, spaced four to eight weeks apart. Exact number depends on pigment depth, tattoo age, color, and individual skin response; a consultation and test spot provide a personalized treatment plan.
Most people experience mild discomfort described as snapping or tingling; topical numbing is applied to minimize sensation. Treatments are brief with limited heat buildup, and most clients tolerate sessions well with only temporary redness or sensitivity afterward.
Pico Laser is effective across many skin types, including darker tones, because it uses non-thermal, mechanical energy. A skincare professional will evaluate risk of pigment changes, recommend settings, and perform a patch test to ensure safe, tailored treatment.
Downtime is minimal for most patients: expect redness, mild swelling, or tiny crusting for a few days. Healing typically occurs within 3–7 days; avoid sun exposure, use gentle skincare, and follow post-care instructions to speed recovery.
Pico Laser can remove many old tattoos, especially stubborn inks, but complete removal depends on ink color, depth, and scarring. Multiple sessions are usually required; some pigments like certain greens or fluorescent inks may be resistant or need alternative approaches.
Avoid sun tanning and self-tanners for at least two weeks, stop topical retinoids and certain acids as advised, disclose medications and medical history, and arrive with clean skin. We typically apply topical numbing before treatment for comfort.
